Golden Bear Hunt

with Bess Martin

Artist Bess Martin has been hiding 500 handmade golden clay bears on footpaths around Kirklees for people to find between July and November this year.

The bears could be found hiding in little coloured plastic balls which were either hiding in plain sight or in more hard to spot places. Once walkers found a ball inside they found their very own golden bear, a book telling a little about him, and a postcard to complete and return to us telling us all about how they found him or her!

Please note: the gold bear hunt has now finished and the remaining bears have been collected from their hidden locations.

See below for some of the lovely images and words that we received after people had found the golden bears and photographs of people discovering the golden bears on Kirklees footpaths.

Instagram is a great visual way to find clues about where bears may be hiding! Bess is posting pictures when she hides new bears so keep an eye out!

A good place to find quick clues and pictures for where you may find some golden bears hiding!
